Ferrostaal Mongolia became member of German-Mongolian institute for resources and technology /GMIT/

As a state university for scientific teaching and research, GMIT provides a pioneering model for the reform of university education in Mongolia.

The University is training a new generation of engineers and technology experts in the Asian region.

Its aim is to transfer international expertise and cutting-edge standards to Mongolia in support of sustainable economic growth. It is distinguished by its strong practice-orientation.

GMIT promotes the professional and personal development of its students, while imparting relevant expertise, a spirit of research, creativity, and leadership skills in an ever-changing environment.

The University responds to both private- and public-sector needs in the mineral resources sector and downstream industries.

It is helping to train a specialized workforce, and will contribute to increasing levels of value addition taking place within Mongolia. The guiding principles of GMIT include the protection of the environment, and social and economic sustainability.

GMIT embodies the close relationship and the exchanges of knowledge between Mongolia and Germany.

The founding of the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology was agreed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, in October 2011. The development of GMIT and its cooperation with German universities is supported by the Mongolian Ministry of Education and Sciences and the Federal Government of Germany. The German contribution to GMIT is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
